Under the national programme put forward by the FNS consortium, more than 60 partners will spend the next 6 years working in close cooperation on 6G Research & Development and Innovation (R&D&I). In total, the programme will involv

€312 million. Around €88 million will be allocated over the course of the programme based on a series of Open Calls.

The programme will give the Netherlands a leading position worldwide by using R&D&I in specific interrelated areas of 6G: smart components, smart networks and leading applications in key sectors of the economy. The latest 6G intelligence is standardised at the international level, and has been designed to ensure that the next generation of networks will satisfy society’s demands for reliability, digital autonomy and sustainability.

The FNS programme will put the Netherlands in an important position in the global 6G value chain, which will boost the Dutch economy and its long-term earning capacity. Thanks to FNS, the Netherlands will stay in control of its mobile networks, offering a practical contribution to open digital autonomy in an evolving geopolitical reality.
